STT Emtec contributes to a better environment at Oslo Port

Aquaculture equipment supplier Ocea AS joins hands with Bjordal & Madsen AS and STT Emtec AB in Sundsvall Sweden to build a safe, rugged catamaran work boat equipped with Volvo Penta engines and cutting edge emission technology from STT Emtec.

Ocea is proud to announce a work boat with exceptionally low environmental impact built for Oslo Havnevesen (Oslo Port Control). The boat is equipped with dual D12 450 hp engines which in turn are equipped with SCR and POC technology from STT Emtec. The SCR system will remove more than 90% of the NOx emission and the particle oxidation catalyst (POC) will reduce particulate matter (PM) by 40%.

“This is our first engine installation equipped with emission after treatment system (EATS)” said Egil Risnes (product manager Boats) at Ocea AS. “The decision is a result of all parties’ strong green commitment as well as the support from the Norwegian NOx fund. It has been natural to choose the leading technology from STT Emtec to achieve this goal”, continues Mr Risnes.

“We have worked together with Volvo Penta for over two years, developing and field testing our marine SCR systems. We are excited to offer our systems to the global marine market, reducing NOx and eliminating PM, matching any customer need”, says Ulf Sundström CEO of STT Emtec AB.
